FAQs

WHY DID AfRU EXPAND BEYOND PASTORAL TRAINING?

The greatest challenge that Africa faces today is a crisis in leadership! Abuses in power, corruption, political scandals, financial misuse, and theft of natural resources have crippled development. Transforming society with the Gospel begins with equipping leaders across many disciples who are trained from the foundation of biblical principles. Since the expansion of our programs, our community development and IT graduates have been in high demand by employers. Currently we are receiving more requests for graduates than we can supply.

WHY ARE AfRU GRADUATES IN HIGH DEMAND?

Employers are aware of our Christian worldview and values-based education and can clearly see a difference in the quality of graduates we are producing. Uganda is crying out for Christian leaders in every sector of society to bring transformation through the power of the Gospel.

WHO OWNS AfRU?

ARM is a registered 501c3 in the US and is certified by the Evangelical Council for Financial AccountabilityAfrica Renewal University is audited yearly in Uganda and the finances are overseen by the Finance Committee of the Governing Council.

ARE THE LOCATION AND DEMOGRAPHICS OF UGANDA CONDUCIVE TO THE GROWTH OF CAMPUS 2024?

Our campus is connected to Kampala, the capital of Uganda, by a highway named Mityana Rd which completed construction at the end of 2013. Buloba has been slowly transforming into a suburban extension of Kampala. The 1.7 million people from Kampala now have easier access to the Christian education provided at AfRU; the Campus 2024 expansion will help AfRU meet this need.

The need for academically rigorous and biblically sound education is urgent. Uganda has a population of 36.5 Million with the second highest birth rate in the world. 65% of the population is 19 years old and younger leading to a head demand for Higher Education. HOW WILL AfRU BENEFIT UGANDA?

1.23% of Ugandans complete higher education compared to 10% of all Africans. The poor access to quality, low-cost, value-based education is strangling development and perpetuating poverty.  Our vision is to see a transformed Africa, a continent with healthier people living a better quality of life. However, for this to happen Africa must have real servant leaders who are selfless, developmental and transformational. This only comes with a university education that goes beyond head training and covers the heart, character and values embodied by Christ imself. It will take a well rounded leader to face and tackle the affairs of today's African society.
